Some are, some aren't. A lot of gays turn away from Christianity because they are condemned by it to celibacy. Same with Muslims. But most other religions don't criticize their orientation, and many are very spiritual indeed. Many are pagans of one sort or another. Also, there are liberal Christian churches, including the Metropolitan Church, which is mostly gay.

As people come to know more about their options in regard to religion, they go where they are accepted for who they are.

I'm a lesbian and a christian. My best friend is straight and an atheist.
