I wanted to name my son Emily Louise if he would of been a girl. I like old-fashioned names. I don't think its too Cliche or a bad name.

Emily is a pretty name.

Unfortunately about 50 million other people seem to think so also.

I've known at least 15 different Emily's in my life ... and I'm only 22.

If you love the name I'd use it as a middle name.

It's a good name. My boss is named Emily. She's in her mid-30s, just had a second baby, and is still incredibly cute. Maybe your daughter will be cute for a long time like that, too. Regardless, Emily is still a good name. . . .

Definitely not too old fashioned, when I had my son (17 years ago) it was VERY common, and I guess I still think of it that way, though perhaps it has fallen somewhat in popularity. It is certainly not a bad name, but it is not a Wow name either.

I love it because it's my name =). I have my moms first name as my middle name which is Kathleen so I think it sounds nice. And I'm guessing it's your name too because of your Yahoo! Answers name thingy, but it' s just a guess. Or if you're thinking of naming your daughter that, I think it would be very pretty. And if you don't want the #1 girls name, than you could change it a little or use it as the middle name. If you change it I suggest Ellie, Elle, or Amelia.

It's a good normal name. Girls today are still named Emily so it isn't old-fashioned. You're doing your child a favor by not naming her something nuts. So you get my Normal Parent Award. :)

It's a pretty name, but it's very common. I know about a million Emilys. I think a cute alternative would be Amelia. It's very similar, but far less common.

I think it's a wonderful name, and we almost named our daughter Emily, but then I found out it was the most popular girls name! We decided on Ellie instead. Goodluck
