I drive mostly highway miles. How many miles should I get? 40,000? 50,000? 60,0000?

Don't squeal your tires and they'll last longer. For some reason many guys seem to think that if they "burn rubber" when they "peel out" that it shows how macho they are. Do they honestly think girls will swoon over how much rubber someone burns!? Me...I think to myself "there goes another idiot trying to ruin his tires and then pay lots of money to replace them".

Anyways, the tires that come standard with your car are probably not the best you can get. Since I normally buy tires that are rated for 110 thousand km (Canada....equals about 65 thousand miles) I would think your tires probably are only good for about 50 thousand miles at best. Do you live in an area with snow like I do? I always buy good studded tires for the winter months here.

Technically, you can drive on the same tires for 1,000,000 or maybe 2,000,000 miles, up until the rubber shreds off and you are driving on the bare rims. Well, you CAN...

depends on the car and the tires, but usually you dont get very good mileage out of the factory tires. i have seen them needing to be replaced at anywhere from 20K-60K, with 45K being about the norm. the faster, sportier the car, the quicker it eats tires. and dont forget to get your tires rotated and check your pressures often.
