Yeah, it's preseason, but the Saints might have a major problem on offense if he doesn't look a lot better than what we saw.

I am afraid this would happen.
In previous seasons there are always teams that seem to come out of no where and catch most of the teams on their schedule by surprise. In 1999, it was the St. Louis Rams, in 2000 it was the Giants, etc.

Last year it was the Saints. Every team in that division looked at that team and put a check in the win column. Most figured that with all the turmoil that was surrounding the team and the city, no way would the addition of a new QB and a second overall pick make that much difference. Besides, they also picked up a rookie head coach. But Payton and his team spent long hours in the film room and devised schemes to exploit the opponent's lazy attitude. Meanwhile, the opponent really had no history to go on as far as Payton's offense. With those advantages, the Saints managed to score some pretty quick wins and get out ahead in the beginning. As teams got used to them through the year, their winning percentage began to slide, but they still managed to keep rolling until the NFC title game.

This year may be a different story. Teams will be gunning for them and will spend the time and effort to get up for that team. Also, they have footage on what kind of formations and nuances Brees and the rest of the team have. They can also find holes in the defense. If the game to night was any indication, New Orleans is probably going to take a step back this season.

Very poignant fact. that's amazingly equivalent to '05. absolutely everyone who thinks the Steelers does not be risky in the event that they get into the playoffs is fooling themselves. For the persons asserting the Steelers have not crushed absolutely everyone i can nonetheless bear in recommendations that unbeatable Colts group scoring on the 1st play while they performed interior the widespread season that year. yet what got here approximately interior the playoffs? With Troy back on protection they seem to be a stellar unit. he's the soul of that group and makes each and every thing run extra effectively. And the offense continues to be all around extra acceptable even nevertheless I do discover the shortcoming of a working pastime disappointing. massive Ben is enjoying out of his recommendations and can win video games all on his very own now, especially with Mike Wallace giving them 3 super (or on the least 2 super and a million very very reliable) receivers. the only difficulty is in '05 Steelers controlled their very own destiny and now they could win-out (stressful to assure with the Ravens) and characteristic different communities lose. So that's an excellent if. yet while they do, the different communities extra acceptable beware.

The Steelers have more of a problem with their 1st string than mostly any other team. Why are you comparing their 3rd string with a team in the playoffs last season?

Not sure how Brees looked but remember that Brian St. Pierre has been in the League a few years. Mostly either on the Steelers or on the practice squad.

Its only preseason. How can you say that when Brees is an All-Pro quaterback? He only played in two series. The thing that I am worried about is the secondary. Mike got burned like Thomas does. O well atleast it preseason and not the regular season.

Doesn't matter. Brees has the starting job and he's warming up and not risking to an unnecessary injury; in other words, he's not trying.

This guy St. Pierre is competing with Bryan Randall for not being the QB cut.
