personally I think its like cheating, and he should be banned like many other players that have banned substances. Yet some how he never does.
So to answer your question, it matters and its wrong!!!!!!!

People that defend Barry may say that steroids does not help his hand-eye coordination, and he still needs to put the bat on the ball. I agree with that part of it, but this is where I have a problem, it's the durability. Steroids not only makes you stronger, but will allow you to prolong your career, giving Barry the chance to hit more home runs. Without the Juice, would he have played so long, and if he did, could he be an affective home run hitter late in the innings? In my opinion, Roger Maris is still the single season record holder, and Hank is still the KING!

"Barry Bonds did steroids?" That is the question here. Because, like it or not, at this moment in time there has yet to be a single positive steroid test for Bonds leaked to the public. I am not defending Bonds, I am merely pointing out that if Bonds did take steroids there is a massive cover-up involving Major League Baseball. His personal trainer, Greg Anderson, is in jail since the raid on BALCO, but there is still no positive test for Bonds. So I have to say Bonds did not take steroids. Afterall, is that not why Major League Baseball tests for steroids in the first place? Now, there is a huge shadow cast over Bonds in regards to his production when most players are past their prime in addition to his notable size increase. But without a murder weapon and a body you will not be convicted for murder. Same deal, if Bonds took steroids then where is the positive test? Keep in mind, if I am wrong I will be the first to admit it.

Yes, it should matter when you noticed the fact that the hammer and babe Ruth didn't take steroids so it's not fair to them.
No, if you look at the fact that no one airs out all of the pitchers and not as talented as Barry such as Giambi.

*Is it wrong because he's breaking the all time HR record or because taking steroids means he cheated. If because he cheated did why did giambi get the most improved player of year after he was accused. And why is there so much attention on barry and steroids when Giambi went to a meeting about steroids.

YES! I'm very upset with the whole thing. i mean, not only do today's athletes have much easier ways of doing things (with their own trainers and special machines and whatnot) they also don't have to struggle with the racial problems and such. I just feel that the whole thing should be seriously looked into before we hand him the title. If he's clean then i don't mind, but there's no way i want to spread the message that steroids are okay and you earn things by using them......

i may seem a bit extreme. i'm just very passionate about baseball.

Yes, it should. Why do you think Bonds dances around the question? Why do you think his personal trainer is sitting in jail instead of answering the question? It's because it matters to them! And, who is closer to it than they are?

Hell, yes, it matters. It matters to Bonds. It matters to his personal trainer. And it should matter to anyone who cares about this record.

Bonds may hold the record, but he has no honor. And, a man without honor is not a real man.
