I always over think things. To me if I literally see a glass sitting on a table and it's only filled to half way, I would assume that the glass had been drank out of therefore it's half empty. To me it's a logical assumption. The whole optimistic or pessimistic side to all of that seems dumb to me. But like I said I am a more logical thinker, maybe too logical.
