How old is the Beast in Beauty & the Beast?

So old that the surrounding villages don't remember an entire kingdom of people disappearing but yet the castle is still visible but no one finds it except Bell's father who by accident stumbles upon it. But Gaston and his lynch mod find it to torch it with much ease.

The opening suggests that the rose with bloom until his 21st year but that's vague considering he is already seen as a young adult close to being in his late teens and early twenties in the opening sequences. So the 21st year could mean that from day forward he has 21 years to find someone who will love him or else he will die.

The enchanted rose would bloom until his 21st birthday. Since the rose was wilting and about to lose it's last petal and since Cogsworth and Lumierre were so panicked about Belle being their last chance, It can be logically assumed the prince was just short of his 21st birthday.
