im 5 wks pregnant do u know how long more i need to take the progesterone shots

It is my understanding that after invitro that resulted in pregnancy the progesterone shots should be continued til week 12 of pregnancy. Congrats!

Ask your doctor. My doctor let me switch from the shots to prometrium, which are the capsule form of progesterone. I used them as vaginal suppositories. They are a little messy, but way better than getting poked with that big needle everyday. I was allowed to switch over to prometrium at 6 weeks, so give your RE a call and see if that would work for you. I think I went off of progesterone support at about 11 weeks completely, once the placenta started making enough prog. on its own.

When pregnant I never took any "progesterone" shots. I dont think those are "necessary".
Dont take anything, probably not even good for u, its better to prevent than to regret.
