Good question maybe its because they have had things done to them that have affected their self-image, parents on drugs/abandoned them, abuse from other kids etc.

Self-confidence is an acquired ability. It also depends on one's personality, whether a person is shy and introverted, or outgoing and sociable. Self-confidence can be learned and practiced. There are adult education classes that deal with this subject. Public speaking is one good way to develop one's ability to come out of the shell. We are all insecure to a point, some more than others, depending on the circumstances. If a child is belittled by its parents or older siblings, or school bullies, that child can grow up feeling worthless and insecure. Much of what we experience in childhood stays with us when we're grown. That's why it's so important to encourage a child's developing personality, and not criticize him or her excessively, but teach in a constructive manner, and with kindness and love. I hope this answers your question.

Being negative and hearing negative things about people is a waste of time. As long as you do not have problem with them, it is best to stay positive as much as possible. I am only insecurity around negative people. I love being around positive people.

it's called being human. not everyone has the same securities/confidence in the same areas.....someone might be a really intelligent and wouldn't shed a bead of sweat when it came to an exam, while that same person might be a wreck when it comes to socializing.

Its because of the ppl around them especially parents who try to talk their children down. It is some thing that can be cured in early ages but not later.

Are you talking about me? Who told you? I'll bet it was that girl in my math class wasn't it? Don't believe her. I didn't hit on her. I just said "Hi" and she made it into this big deal. God I hate that. I hope you will still like me.
