It would help me to know what your phobia is, in order to advise you. What is it you fear? Generally speaking, the best way to combat your phobia is to seek psychiatric counseling. It's harder to do it on your own, but I suppose it could be done. I heard a story about a woman who was afraid of crowds. Her counselor advised her to condition herself gradually, by going in smaller groups, and then larger ones, and larger, etc., until she finally felt comfortable in crowded places. Conditioning might work for you. There's another theory -- do the thing you fear! That sounds a lot easier than it is, but you can train your mind to do it, if you convince yourself you're not going to die, faint, get dizzy, or otherwise make a spectacle of yourself. These scary physical manifestations will pass if you just take a deep breath and reason with yourself. That one might take some training. Write again, and let us know what your phobia is, and maybe we can give you more specific advice on how to conquer it. Good luck!
