If the person lets me know what side of the fence a person is on, then turns out to be a nut about it -- you bet I'd judge them based, in part, on that.

I like pragmatists, that can look at both sides of the coin without getting themselves in tatters. I've know a few left wing nuts that get bent, and a hell of a lot of neocons that use smear and anything in the book to discredit. That is why I believe neoconism is a true mental illness. Libs, on the other hand, I've found willing to discuss and true conservatives, the same.

Peace

It is not right to judge someone. Then on politics is crazy, even the politicians constantly change their mind! I like it when I can talk to people what they think even if I do not agree. As Long as they do not get bent out of shape because I think what I do too! Now a politician is different they better know! Which is why I do not judge people thoughts look what these politicians say and then say something else. They do not even know what islamist are even all about!
Some times you may acquire what a person is about by their ignorant statements though. Like we must respect their religion! Oh yaa,, respect mine then! Do not take the flag down nor Jesus pictures down. I want respect!

It is wrong to judge another person's basic worthiness as a human being based on their politics, or any other earthly characteristic that makes them a unique individual. However, you have every right to choose who you want to be friends or lovers with, based on any criteria you choose. So, while you cannot assume that another person is not a worthy human being for any reason....you can choose to have as friends, only like minded people, if that is what makes you feel most comfortable in your life. *sm*

I don't judge them solely on their politics, but it does add in the equation. I think it takes more than bad political choices to make a bad person. I can't say that it is wrong for you to do so.

It's valid to judge a person's politics based on what political statements they make.

I don't think that politics says everything about a person -- so I would not judge someone as a person based solely on that one aspect of their belief.

A person would have to be very pigheaded to judge another based on their politics.

I try not to judge people cause I don't think it's my job. Some of my dearest friends are politically opposite of me but they are kind, giving, people. If you're going to judge someone, judge them on their actions. Actions speak louder than words.

yes.
you shouldn't judge someone just because they are conservative or liberal.
if you personally disagree with their specific beliefs that is your right. if they are small differences of opinion you should still treat them respectfully and they should do the same to you. its good to be friends with all different kinds of people.

its understandable that if they are have a very different ideology- say for instance they are in the American Nazi Party and you are in one of the parties for equality- that you and said person do not interact unless you must.

I think so, if that was all you were judging them on. You should judge a person based on everything you get to know about them, not just certain things that you agree/disagree with.

yes...I find Liberals that I know are really nice despite how different my political views are with theirs. We tend to judge anyway not just by politics either. It is the person that counts.
