darling, you have it all wrong. it would hit the lobster that was taking his morning stroll in the woods and stopped to ask the fire hydrant for directions, but was mislead into the realm of mischievous trees, one of whom decided to fall on him.
it was the lobster, you see.

Depends how much time the tree had between the falling and hitting the ground...if the chicken is slow, then it would hit the chicken. But if the tree falls slowly, the chicken will have time to pop out an egg in shock and run off. Then it will fall on the egg.

only if were a fat and immoble chicken as they can run circles round a tree.
Probably only hit an egg if it were incubating on that side of the tree as it fell.
What are you really asking, if a tree fell in the woods, would it make a noise, course it would dummy, the laws of physics say that all energy is transferrable so movement would convert into sound (a physicist could explain better than I). Combine this no brainer with what came first bla blah then you think you have the mother of all philosophical questions, dah, no just two stupid ones spliced.
I reckon chicken...

I understand. This is an appeal to logic.
The tree "fell" already. It cannot hit anything anymore, whether a chicken or an egg.

I went to investigate and found a chicken. But am not sure if it was the original chicken or if it was the chicken from the egg. Its a dilemma.

if anything it would hit the egg because the chicken wouldn't be there but maybe it's easter and some kids are hidding egggs and aan egg is next to the tree thus, SPLAT!
