We are here to bring others to God. Life is hard because adam and eve screwed it up for us all. and yes everything matters. everything you do could be watched by someone else and if we are here to bring people to God like i stated before then everything you do could do that or the oppsite of that. caring for the enviroment matters our families, keeping the utilites on it all matters.
you sound depressed and if that is the case you need to seek help.

Nobody knows why we are here. Everybody has theories, but no body knows for sure.

Life is so hard because we exist. You'd you agree that it would be much easier to not exist than to? Life is hard because we constantly desire things, and desire leads to disappointment, because even fulfilling desire creates more desire for the same thing, and eventually the desire will not be meet, which will lead to sorrow.

Everything only matters as much as you choose it. If nothing matters, then it truly doesn't. If everything matters, then it truly does.

There is no preset answers to any of these questions. There is no cheat sheet for life. You can only take suggestions, but ultimately you are the only person who can answer these questions.

To mirror previous answer.

We are here because evolution produced a rational animal, namely us. Life is hard because we humans take for granted what we have, and long for what we do not have. Such is not a bad thing. All progress was made because somebody was not happy with the present situation. Otherwise we would still be living in caves. Does anything really matter at all? Yes, your life and your happiness, which are not automatic and for which you have to struggle and work.

To tell you the truth that is a priceless question. I believe that we determine our own destiny. Life is going to be hard becuase thats called responsibility and its also the price of greatness. Everything matters.

I think that, and most will agree with me, the answers which you seek cannot be found through other people but only you can decide why you wake up each day. Just keep in mind that only you can choose your destiny. The choice is yours.

Just keep in check that do you want your destiny to be one of greatest happiness or horrible sadness. if you want the greatest happiness. enjoy the company of people worth being around who have self-respect and a willingness to make themselves and others better. however, if you want horrible sadness. All you have to do is nothing. Live a Careless life of complete Apathy. And i promise sadness will come eventually.

Only YOU can decide......

life is hard because people make it hard
nothing really matters in the long run, but if you believe it does, then i guess it could for you.

We are either here for a reason/purpose or we are here because of the mindless process of evolution which cannot grant purpose. Evolution is just another natural process like weather, for example, and can no more give us purpose than a snowstorm can give purpose to a snowflake.

Real purpose requires a God. Here's what atheist Bertram Russell said about purpose:

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (20th century philosopher, mathematician and Nobel Laureate)

So, without God there can be no real meaning to life, however, through various psychological techniques we can give ourselves the feeling/illusion of meaning. All rejectors of God give themselves the illusion of meaning. This is done mostly through some deeds that are praiseworthy, such as volunteering at a hospital. They praise themselves and imagine others praising them. That engenders good feelings and those feelings can be taken as evidence that volunteering at the hospital is why they were put on earth. It's all illusion, of course.

If we want to know real purpose and real meaning and the real point to life, seek God. I personally think seeking God and finding God and knowing God is our real purpose.

first question: chance
second question: natural selection
third question: yes, your life - if you care for it

note that this is an atheist opinion. if you ask religion, there's a lot more that matters, but none of it can be of any scientific or logic account. for example, i can't see how religion can answer the second question satisfactory.
flat out, it is only your own life that matters - but that's quite enough for me.

"life is not about finding yourself, it is about creating yourself."
