I agree with you Ty. Why do Americans think they doing the world a huge favor? Some have said in their answers Democracy. So they have this strange notion that other countries don't have Democracy? That ever country outside the USA is Communist? I forgot that only 17% of Americans hold a passport, plus you are feed by the media over there. And another notion is we all want to live in USA. Vietnam I don't recall the Vietnamese asking USA to go there! Second world war. Well some countries are netural here in Europe and have never been in any wars.

Fix what and for who?? And what countries are you hoping to change their opinion of us, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, China?? Who?? Are those the friends you want? We've heard it all from America Haters, "we're in Iraq for the oil!" Really? What are you paying at the gas pump?? NEWS FLASH! The next president will come in and piss-off other countries who actually may like us now. AGAIN, it's a great big world out there and you're foolish to think everyone is going to love us all the time. This is the real world folks, not Barney singing I love you, you love me......Wake up and get you heads out of your ***!

The only way to fix our image is to stop being war-mongering as*holes. Our president George W Bush has a dream to conquer the world. From what I can tell he has no intention of letting anyone stand in his way. I'm not real sure why he has not been kicked out of office. Our country was started by people who took over everything that they laid hands on. Our government are still in that mind set. You know I am starting to think that we might not ever recover. We just might be to far gone.

There is no fix! No matter what our country does, it will be viewed as wrong by someone or some nation! We could just sit back and do nothing for anyone much like French, but simply because we are America and the "Land of the Free", we recieve the criticisms where as the French would not (mainly cause they have their noses up all the other nations a$$et$)!

I think supporting the UN's mission in Darfur is a great first step. For the last six years, US policy has been based on what's to the advantage of a small number of very rich American men. That's no more popular in the rest of the world than it is here. We need to stop sending troops when our only interest is economic, and begin sending troops when there are people who need protection. We need to accept that if we can afford $500 billion for an invasion of Iraq, we can afford to do far more than we do to ease the suffering in the world. We need to stop dragging our feet on critical global issues, and become leaders. We need to show respect for all the people of the world, even if they look different or worship differently than we do. We need to show the world once more what good, decent people most Americans are.

Elect a president who has the courage to reverse the disastrous policies of Dubya. Declare that the U.S. will no longer enter into "pre-emptive" wars. Dismantle the prison at Guantanamo and give the inmates the same due process that is available to American citizens, or send them home. Declare that it will unconditionally forbid torture of anyone in U.S. custody. Shut down "black" prisons in other countries for the purpose of torture. Strike down the Patriot Act and swear that it will only eavesdrop on its own citizens or the citizens of other countries with oversight from civilian courts and elected bodies like Congress. Start to re-establish good relations with its traditional allies. Promise to play fair and respect international agreements and the U.N.
Quite frankly, it will take decades for the U.S. to regain respect.

Take control of the world -- except for China and Russia, then control their media and tell them daily how great we are.
History books aren't written by the losers.
America rocks!
Between 1942 and 1944 we raised a combined force of 16 million men, out of a population of 160 million -- 10%.
Ten percent of our population today would be 30 million servicemembers! With the ripple-effect of a global war, our economy would be off the charts. Who would stand up to us if we had such a military with nukes to keep the big boys out of our way?
Here's my order of places we need to own:
1. Iran
2. N. Korea
3. Syria
4. Pakistan
5. Venezuela
6. Europe
7. S. America
8. Africa
9. Pacific belligerents
10. Anybody else who wants some!
NOW LET'S GO GET 'EM!

Graciously withdraw from the middle east and other countries and start taking care of our own. That would go a long way in fixing our image.

You're never going to be liked when you work hard at being liked.
Jealousy is the key here. The only way we'll be "liked" in Europe will be if we give all our wealth to the Euro-weenie Socialist states. And guess what? When we have nothing more to give to them...we won't be liked again.
Get over it.
