Should be both, as one depends on the other...! However nothing brings in reality more than physical pain... Such a painful existence it is that of being human! So sad most pleasures seems to be unreal during their course...! only safety is knowing that part of being human is being part flesh part mind... And both pain and pleasure have their flesh and mind facets!

Both Equally. take a look at Spinoza's ethics it treats this well. Pleasure for one person is anothers pain, so when you experience pleasure you are causing pain to something else. When you are in pain, you give pleasure to something else. The two really are one, they define humans, that's why there has never been the Idea of God without the Idea of a devil. We all know deep down how interconnected everything is, and pain and pleasure are the so to speak lowest common demoniator of all that.

While pleasure is more preferable i have to say pain reminds me how human i am. Pain can remind me of my limits and vulnerability. I will say you can't enjoy pleasure without pain...

I think both. Unfortunately when we feel pleasure, we just want more. No matter what, we want more and more...which sometimes ends in pain. But by golly we'll keep doing it for that little bit of pleasure. That's almost insanity.

Hmmmm. Quasi dark. Humans were originally intended to enjoy their lives, and be members of a bearable species. Unfortunate intervention by various beings from various "locations" has created, in various forms, painful unpleasantness.
Hopefully, we'll be returned to the original "plan" through the intervention, this time, of some more benevolent beings; I for one enjoy pleasure . :)))

Neither.
A part of a human is sentient, can learn and apply learned behavior, the rest is all part of our animal or beast nature.
Did'nt the holy books say we were beasts until the lord creator breathed his godly breath upon us. (or something like that)
id say both pain and pleasure are exibited by animals so
both reinforce the animal nature in us, not the human part of us.

Has to be pleasure. Pain is a sense we will eventually evolve out off.

pain-there is a long climb up from pain to feeling better, and possibly feeling pleasure, and that climb is very, very human and as real as it gets.
