I was in the 11th grade, in art class. It was annonced over the loud speaker. l was so upset that I got up and left the classroom, and didn't even get in trouble. When I got home I was still crying.
Mom and I were watching TV when Oswald was handcuffed and being taken outside, when Jack Ruby pulled out a gun and shot him right before our eyes.
As an art project I painted two pictures: One of Jackie and Carolyn kneeling at the flag draped casket and the other of John Jr. in his little blue coat saluting. They both had dark gray backgrounds and bright colors on the clothes and people. I got an A.

I was a sophmore at St Ignatius High School Cleveland Oh i WAS BETWEEN CALSSES AND THE ANNOUNCEMENT CAME over the speakers
The President had driven by our school just a few weeks before he was killed, I was out there with a sign and I shook his hand when his motorcade stopped.
I was devasted and it seemed Like my whole world fell apart -- Little did I know that I would face even more testing situations in years to come
I remember a black woman crying on the bus home
I am surprised some jerk did not answer 'behind the fence on the grassy Knoll"
OOOPS just saw that someone did give that answer
I still believe the "pristine bullet' was planted and that there may have been a conspiracy.
A bullet that passes through two people and cause 4 seperate wounds would have been completely mis-shapen

I was in 8th grade science class when one of our classmates came in late for class and shouted out that JFK had been shot---we ALL thought (including the teacher) he was saying this to get out of getting detention for being late.... but a minute or two later the principal announced over the PA system that JFK was indeed DEAD... I think every girl in the class started crying right there and then.... they let out school and we all basically went home in silence. I remember watching every single second of TV that was ON during that time and the funeral and remembered just crying like a baby---even now THINKING about those awful days brings tears to my eyes...... how sad it is that we all remember exactly what we were doing on the SADDEST DAYS OF OUR LIVES...for the current generation it will of COURSE be 9/11 that they will always remember where they were.....

Sixth grade, they made the announcement over the intercom...and then they let us out of school for the day. And it must have been for a few days because I actually think I remember sitting with my family watching most of the coverage of it.
Oddly enough just 3 years ago I had a college course where the professor and I were the only ones old enough to remember. The rest of the class engaged in discussion of what THEY thought probably happen and the professor and I just caught line of sight and had a wink and a chuckle, until they asked my opinion and I had to fess up to remembering it. They were aghast! lol

I was working in a mall bakery in Tucson AZ when someone called from another stall, "Kennedy has been bitten by a snake called an assassin and is dead." The day Oswell was shot I was home in bed after I had finished the early morning shift. Mom started screaming, "They shot him, they shot him!" I jumped out of bed and ran into the living room and she said, "Someone just shot the guy that shot Kennedy" bad times, really bad times.

I was home from school and was watching my usual fare when it was interrupted to tell us that the President had been shot. I lived in an apt. then and ran next door to tell one of my friend's dad that Kennedy had been shot. We were all in such shock. I got to see the caisson carrying the body near Dupont Circle in Washington, DC when it came by. Very sad time.
