If the brick is explosive, tainted with anthrax or some other deadly agent, I would have to say that you should first shoot the brick before it reaches your window.
A flying-nano-second-lab-test should show whether this is the case.
Then cram said brick down perpetrators' throat and stuff them into a one-litre Aquafina bottle, drive them to the river and toss them into the water.
If they come back.......it's true love. Most definitely. Consider marriage.

No.

Force can only be used to prevent an attack, not in retribution to an attack. That's inherent in the doctrine of self-defense.

And you cannot use more force than is necessary or more severe force relative to the attack -- so, you could not use a gun to stop someone from throwing a brick, unless you were so physically weak that the break would cause the same relative harm to you that the gunshot would cause to them.

No. Unless they are throwing the brick directly at you and you're holding a gun, then you can articulate it was self defense if you shoot them. but if they are just throwing a brick through your window, you can't then go out and shoot them because you're mad.

I think it depends on the amount of time betweenthe brick was thrown through your window to when you shot them, but if you know who did it, throw a brick at them, or you could just snitch

Probably only if they are climbing through said window and obviously threatening your life (and they better not be shot in the back.) Other than that you go to jail instead of them.

You're kidding right? No. You cannot used deadly force to counter vandalism. If you were being attacked with said brick, it might be debatable.
