How do I find the boss in Kingdom Hearts 1 on the Alice in Wonderland world?

I'm stuck and i don't know what to do.

Go to the mad Hatters house and light the two candles inside and defeat the heartless. Then return to the main room where the doorknob is and a boss battle will ensue.
