I tried that once but my wife got mad at me for messing up the living room.

I wouldn't know. .I'm not a bird. It might be an interesting challenge to try & build a nest for a bird (of a particular breed)- then see if that bird would actually use the nest. There are little bird-houses you can buy or you can build them, & then the bird will build its own nest in the bird-house.

Also- Scientists who study various creatures of all kinds on this Earth, often attempt to recreate that particular species environment in various ways in order to observe & study the creature(s) - (rather animal, bird, reptile, fish, etc), closer up to get a better understanding of it.

Every time I pick a twig up I can't seem to get off of the ground and into the tree so I gave it up. Also quit nesting for the male gender. Now I just have my comfort zone, guess you could call it a nest for one with no eggs!
