That's assuming there still ARE textbooks in twenty centuries... 2000 years would see a lot of changes in methods and materials, not to mention beliefs. Would we still be educating children the same way? Will our successors believe history is a valuable teaching tool or a dangerous instrument of propoganda?

Ne'mind. Sorry. My answer is a waste of space.

Assuming we don't blow ourselves up before then ;)

But how can we know? Do any of us think the actions of people like Bin Laden and George Bush are so 'different' that they'll be remember or cared about by people even in the next century?

People kill each other all the time... people betray their countries, fight wars.... same old, same old.

People will remember a rebel. Because that's how they want to see themselves...

If we are still around, then I think George Bush will be most remembered as the Dictator President who brought down America. Like the Roman Empire, the "American Empire" is going to fall.

the person who managed to solve the last mystery of the human brain

knowlegde about the brain is used today already to build robots who can learn. as soon as robots are advanced enough to have consciousness, they will start to take over.
sounds fictitious, but it will come. and 2000 years are a long time. maybe machines will already have "forgotten" humans, or it just won't be a "person" that's remembered...
