If I remember correctly, the UN asked for more time to complete inspections and many, many countiries implored the US not to invade Iraq. On what basis should the UN and other countries step in to help the US??

The Bush administration is receiving huge amounts of pressure to abandon Iraq at the moment. To do so will jeopardize everything we have accomplished since our invasion. The U.S. needs to see some stability in Iraq before we can begin to back down.

Americans have bled while other countries refused to get involved. It is time to lend us a helping hand don't you think? Whether or not your political views will let you agree with the war or not, lives continue to be at stake, and not just American.

Does the suffering need to continue so that the "righteous" people can continue to score points against our current administration?

This just shows the savagery behind your liberal dogma. We're going to let people die, just to score political points against Bush! You're disgusting.
