I believe it depends on which media outlets you look at. Obama's life is getting probed as well. Probably the biggest difference is that Obama doesn't need to play up his religious view as much with the folks whose votes he is courting.
Whereas Romney, on the other hand, has to link religion pretty strongly if he's going to win the folks whose votes he is courting...and guess what those folks tend not to be big fans of Mormons.
So you may be right...Romney is a little more hamstrung by his religion.

Look again, because this is a war against TERROR... not Muslims or any one specific religious group! Al Queda couldn't have less to do with Islamic men and women of faith of whom there are millions upon millions. Muslims defend this country in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, National Guard, police and fire departments.
And excuse me, but isn't about 95% of your posts a criticism against Bill and Hillary for being godless? You throw a ten year old sexual indescretion up like it's your favorite shiny ball to play with. You criticize Hillary for staying with Bill because God forbid we should ever respect and praise someone for holding a marriage together through turmoil. So it's wrong to bash someone for their religion unless their religion is either Muslim or non-existent, is that correct?
I don't bash Romney for his faith, by the way. I have nothing against Mormans. Although I'm not completely convinced their entire theology isn't based on the teachings of a con artist, they are lovely people who are warm, friendly and they cherish family values. I only have respect for people who practice what they preach. I could care less if Romney were Mormon, Jehova's Witness, Catholic or a snake charmer. I'm not voting for Romney because I'm not a Republican. I would never vote or not vote for someone based solely on their religious ideology.
You're dislike towards Obama simply for his ties to the Muslim comminity is nothing more than a paranoid phobia. The terrorists are no more a part of the true Muslim faith then the KKK are a part of the true Christian faith. Learn to recognize an enemy and an extremist. Your type of mentality is what put Japanese-Americans in internment camps during World War II.

First of all let me say that I am Mormon and I understand that many don't know much about the religion with the exception of the mulitple wives thing from the past and our high health code (no alcohol, coffee, drugs... ect) and the Book of Mormon (thus the nickname Mormons... we are actually The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints). Mitt gets bashed because there are many out there who do not consider Mormons to be Christian. It is just something that sets him apart and others will use it... right or wrong. I think that any one of our leaders should be strong in their faith, whatever it may be. If you can't be true to your beliefs, what can you be true to?

Wow, where to begin...
First, we are not at WAR against MUSLIMS, we are at war against perceived terrorists (even though Congress has not issued a Declaration of War, but that is another story...). Secondly, Obama is NOT a Muslim, he is a Christian who happened to be born with a Muslim father. Thirdly, using his middle name as a lame attempt to associate him with a perceived enemy is juvenile.
I respect Romney. I don't care what "sect" he belongs to or even whether he is a Christian or not. He is a lot more Christ-like and moral than the majority of the Republican field.
I would never bash someone because of their faith. Their dedication to the tenets of their faith is much more important than the particular denomination they choose to call themselves. All major religions (yes, even Islam) have some form of the "Golden Rule". Those who follow it deserve our respect, not our derision.
Strangely enough, the only people I have heard make an issue of Romney's religion are evangelical conservative pundits. Most people don't care his faith, they care about his "works". Faith without works is dead...
If, as you've said, we are at WAR against MUSLIMS (which represent 20% of the world population), we are severely outnumbered .

i might vote for Romney if those have been my in simple terms selections, yet considering there are third events i does not vote for the two. Romney replaced into in choose of the bailouts and is a RINO globalist vs. Obama's cutting-side globalist stance. the type is in simple terms too average to earn my vote if I honestly produce different selections. and people who do unlike Obamacare could observe that that's modeled on the Massachusetts plan put in while Romney replaced into governor.

No, we're not at war against 1.3 billion Muslims -- which is 20% of the world's population.
And Romney is getting bashed for being a Mormon because that's the easiest way for his opponents to distinguish him from other candidates.
Obama gets bashed based on his skin color and the sound of his name, and what religion his father believed. Obama's Christian beliefs are rarely mentioned.
People attack other because they don't like them -- and they use the simplest method of attack. It's petty and childish and it's the reason this country is in the state it's in.

I have no problem with Mitt being a Mormon. The only time I hear him speak about his religion is because they bring it up. I'm a Christian and I think it is silly to bash other religions. God gave us choices so I'm respecting what they choose. It is just another Liberal media bashing a republican. And Oboma is a Liberal Christian he is not Muslim by the way.

1- obama is not Muslim. he is a practicing christian. (why are so many Christians attacking their own when it comes to him?)
2- we are not in a war with Islam, only the radical followers
3- his religion is not why many dislike him. he has a lot of unfavorable qualities
4- orthodox and fundamental christian groups are a danger to people and our rights. we're ready for someone who can put their personal beliefs aside when they are doing their non-partisan secular job.

Part of it has to do with the fact that Mitt Romney is running for election in the G.O.P. Which as you know is the conservative party.
Secondly, Obama professes that he is Christian, it's up to you whether or not you believe it.
