Your school counselor will also have this information, there is limited types of work a 14 year old can do as well, such as they cannot work with machinery, fryers, cutting machines etc. I would contact both the McDonald's and your school to see if you would even be allowed to work for them, I know in Michigan the odds would not be good because on top of everything else you have to prove there is a good reason for you wanting to work, such as dire need in the family, the only other way it is possible is in a family run business.

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the minimum age for employment in non-agricultural employment is 14. Hours worked by 14- and 15-year-olds are limited to:
* Non-school hours;
* 3 hours in a school day;
* 18 hours in a school week;
* 8 hours on a non-school day;
* 40 hours on a non-school week; and
* hours between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. (except from June 1 through Labor Day, when evening hours are extended to 9 p.m.)

McDonalds will know if they can hire you and how many hours you can work. If you don't want to contact them, you can contact the attorney general for your state to find out what the child labor laws are. Each one is different.
