I am guessing that it is because girls compare themselves to those actresses in hollywood that are botoxed up!

I think it starts from not enough self image building by the parents in their early years. Praise and love and believing in a child makes them understand they can do or be anything including beautiful even when they may not be a Hollywood beauty. It all stems from self esteem.

Not necessarily, they may have like someone when they were more young (vulnerable) and they didn't like them back or the boy called them ugly even though they weren't. Or they feel that they aren't getting any attention from handsome boys or men, so they look at the girls who ARE getting attention. And they think maybe I'm ugly...

because they are working to make themselves look better. I think it's a good thing that they are trying to make themselves better and finding what they want to make better. I dislike it when fat women are like, "I'm great and love being fat and when girls are like "oh wow, i'm so ugly" and then do nothing about it and just complain about it. IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, WHY COMPLAIN? I love women who try to make themselves more beautiful inside and out but also take pride in how they look now. =)

I don't think I am ugly, I think I am just plain. Not ugly or pretty. I think women think they are ugly for the same reason that men think they can't get a date with a woman they consider to be a knock out.

Its a matter of self estem.for example a girl might find out the boy she likes dosent like her and that might lower her self estem. some girls think theyre ugly because people may say there to fat, or to skinny and that adds more problem areas to think about
