I am 59 and have used many irons. The best, for me, by far is
the last one I bought - Rowenta. There are several styles, ours is Rowenta Effective. We love this iron. It's worth every dime, it takes the work out of ironing.

I also have been ironing for a very long time----Rowenta IS the best---I suggest you spend the money and get the newest model which runs for around $130.

Chi straighteners are fantastic! They straighten your hair so it like stick straight but it also doesnt ruin your hair. If you are willing to pay top of the line I HIGHLY recommend this straightner. Aldo, if you need a straightening iron hair protector you can use Design Line's straightening iron protector it's really good. Also, I recommend using Design Line's mousse because you wont have to get your hair cut as often. Good Luck!
