Have you ever tried any pencil and paper roleplaying games; the kind you have friend sover for the afternoon and play? If you have never tried them before, they are a lot more fun than you might realize, and I recommend them strongly. Try DragonQuest, Traveller or Champions for fantasy/medieval, s/f and superheroes respectively.
