Who thinks 17 kids is just too many?

Question

I saw this article and just had to comment. How are they affording these kids or do they get a subsidy? With a family that size it would take an income of $100 K to be over poverty line. Anyway, who thinks 17 kids is just too many children to have?

if you can pay for them, i say go for it. if not, you should not be bringing kids into the world that you can't care for.

Why would someone want to have that many kids?!?! The only good thing about a family that big is there's alot of people to help you out with your homework. (and that's only good for the kids) See people? If stuff like this didn't happen then there'd be alot less people on this planet. (and we all know a large population isn't a good thing)

I think 2 kids is definately enough. When you start getting past 4 it's a bit much, but 17 kids!!! for starters, all the kids aren't going to get enough one on one attention from their parents and the older kids probably have to grow up faster to help take care of the younger kids. How do they all go out together? Do they have a bus to load every one up in, and how do you afford that many kids, doing chores all the time just to keep up with everything! Someone needs to get their tubes tied, kids are just falling outta this woman! Give your body a break lady!

I agree that 17 kids is too many. We don't need to have so many kids anymore. In the past having a lot of kids was helpful to work on the farm and do all the things that needed to be done. These days 2 kids is a good amount I'd say.

A third of 17 is too many kids. At that rate, the parents won't even have enough money to take care of themselves, much less 16 bellies to feed, 16 toys/accessories to make them happy, 32 sets of clothes (2 each). Wow...

We have confidence that childrens are a blessing, that God opens and closes the womb, and He is conventional with terrific and we have no desire to dictate to Him while to grant us toddlers and how many. we've 4 toddlers, with our 5th on the way, and if issues proceed as they have been (in terms of spacing), we are going to in all probability have around a dozen toddlers. We have confidence in God to grant for those toddlers He supplies us, whether that have been 17. specific, the Duggars house is astounding in length, yet you do not could have a house that enormous for that length relatives. we are at the instant in a house below 1200 sq. ft. We plan to purchase a sparkling domicile after the infant is born, yet we nonetheless are looking for something around 2000 squareft for our relatives with as much as 9 toddlers. A relatives member of ours has a 4 mattress room 3600 sq. foot domicile, and we would be gentle in that domicile with 17 toddlers. in the event that they are in a position to have sufficient money it and prefer it, then that's great, yet I only hate to work out human beings assume that's needed.

Oh, i read that article too! yeah, i agree 17 kids is too many, but if they could afford to really take care and pay attention and pay for college for every one, then maybe it would be all right.

No, I don't think it's any of our biz~!~... The perfect family for Cost Co~!!!
I am sure they have a "system" set up where they bros and sis's help each other out....
Like a co-op....They are home schooled so they are not draining the school district....They have a HUGE house, so they can't be poor and if you look at the kids, they are all well cared for and dressed nicely....
I think these parents are blessed!

It would be too many for me...I couldn't imagine taking care of that many..but to each it's own. Some people love to have huge families..
