I have a blood test tomorrow and have a major fear of needles. Just can't seem to get to sleep cause I can't stop thinking about it. Plus my husband is snoring really loudly.

Wake up your hubby for company, as an excuse, say you'd like a cool drink.
Then try talking to him about your concerns. The trick with needles, is not to look. You know your going to feel it, that can't be helped, but keep your mind on nice things (like the fact that your hubby got you that drink and sat down and listened...)
You'll be fine.

Right, go downstairs and get a peg, now stick this on your husbands nose to stop him snoring, then plan something, something you like to do like a hobby or something. You can imagine how amaing you are gunna feel after that tiny prick is over with and then go and enjoy yourself, spend lots of time planning it in your mind, you never know you might even drift off!!
Good luck hunny the blood test will be a breeze xx

My Parner was afraid of needles for 10 yrs. since a child and child phobies are hard to over come. he needed the blood test too (as is currently in hospital) and he just thought of a reason to have it. he focused on me anf that he was doing it so we can build our life together and once the 1st one was done he still is edgy but a HELL of a lot better. u shoudl try the same. All my love and hope for u babes.

PS stick a sock in his mouth and say it fell in lol xxxxx

1. Blood tests are very safe.

2. They are painless--maybe a slight pinch.

3. Have your husband use the adhesive nasal strips or sleep on the couch.

its sooo hot and i am not very tired and i have to be up early but i am still smiling =D

hate needles...had a blood test once *shudder*

i wanted to watch the needle go in because thats what i am like - i have to see things...but my sister usually holds my face away and won't let me look...but she wasn't there...but my dad held my hand...but at the end...i was still nervous...there was a scratch and a pinch and it was over...and once again i thought i wouldn't be scared ever again...but i was wrong obviously...it will be over before you know it...at least they got blood in the first go for me...my mum needed 3 needles...good luck

smile =D

I find it hard to get to sleep as well, I can give you a tip if that will help you , ask the nurse to use a butterfly needle that is what I do because (IT DOESN'T HURT) . I ask for that because I am a 100% coward.

Sa, buy yourself another bed or sleep on the couch, or put your HUBBY on the couch. Hope the blood test isn't as bad as you think. Wish you a good sleep tonight! Friend Jimmy.

Lie down.. cuddle up to your hubby, when you go to your appointment just think how much the result from this will help you.

Close your eyes..... and as they say to me.. the little prick will be over soon. So will the nurse. They don't want to hurt you.

Good luck at the Doctors..

ps.. i didn't mean for it to sound like it does.. heck!! blush.. soooo sorry.. oh gosh..

Go and score some smack, by the morning you'll be begging for that needle.
