I was into it for one year, 1996. My new friend took me and encouraged me to sing. After a few martinis I got up my nerve and sang "Love Potion #9". The audience clapped and I was hooked. My other hits were "I Only Want To Be With You", "Johnny Angel" and "Fever".
One night two hats were passed around. One had songs in it and the other had Karaoke singers names in it. When my name was drawn, I went up to the microphone and was told to sing "Boot Scootin' Boogie". Huh? I never even heard of it, but the music started and I sang it in rock rather than country. Big applause for that one! I won a blue ribbon for my original rendition.

I've only done Karaoke once at my office Christmas party and I sang Refugee by Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.
