Two errors in your assumptions.
Clinton was chosen by the Democrats. Not all Democrats are liberals, and not all liberals are Democrats.
Also, Clinton was at least as articulate as most other politicians. Which means your statement would apply equally to almost any other political candidate.

Clinton inarticulate? Hmm.... that's a good one. Tell you what, rather than argue or debate with you, I'm just going to post examples of Clinton's ability to articulate...
"There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured by what is right with America."
"The world knows of Rosa Parks because of a single, simple act of dignity and courage that struck a lethal blow to the foundations of legal bigotry."
"If you live long enough, you'll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you'll be a better person. It's how you handle adversity, not how it affects you. The main thing is never quit, never quit, never quit."
"Success is not the measure of a man but a triumph over those who choose to hold him back.
"We cannot build our own future without helping others to build theirs."
"We should, all of us, be filled with gratitude and humility for our present progress and prosperity. We should be filled with awe and joy at what lies over the horizon. And we should be filled with absolute determination to make the most of it."
"To realize the full possibilities of this economy, we must reach beyond our own borders, to shape the revolution that is tearing down barriers and building new networks among nations and individuals, and economies and cultures: globalization. It's the central reality of our time."
"For too long we've been told about 'us' and 'them.' Each and every election we see a new slate of arguments and ads telling us that 'they' are the problem, not 'us.' But there can be no "them" in America. There's only us."
"Strength and wisdom are not opposing values."
Now, let's look at some of President's Bush's quotes...
"Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream."
"I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family."
"I hear there's rumors on the Internets that we're going to have a draft."
"I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."
"You work three jobs? … Uniquely American, isn't it? I mean, that is fantastic that you're doing that."
"Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country."
"They misunderestimated me."
"Rarely is the questioned asked: Is our children learning?"
"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."
"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."
I'm sorry, I was too busy laughing my head off. Who did you say was "inarticulate" again?

That is really funny. I've heard Bill Clinton called a lot of things, but never inarticulate. He's one of the most charismatic speakers of our generation.

excuse me? Bill Clinton is a genius.. the best president by far..if Bill Clinton could run for president again he would be in with the majority.. how do educated republicans vote for a man once let alone twice that has no education and is a complete imbecile.. that's right no education.. it is a fact that Mr. Bush could not graduate college on his own so they passed him thru with gentleman's c`s....they didn`t want to be him to be an embarrassment to his father who is an educated man..
