i just got back from fiji and i got a necklace that looks like an animal tooth, or maybe its a bone carved into that shape? id like to know what it is. i dont think its an animal from the ocean because the tooth is smooth. an its maybe about 2 inches long. can u help?

If it is from Fiji my guess it is a shark tooth... do you have a photo?

its probably a shark tooth if at the end it has kind of a wide v shape like this

then it is a shark tooth but if it was from fiji it could also be a whale tooth iif it looks like this

then it is a whale tooth this one is a sperm whale tooth and i got the picture from a website about fiji i hope i helped without a picture though it is hard to guess.

EDIT: the shark tooth on the left is a great white the rest are various teeth.

Ever see the teeth of a shark? Unlike their extinct cousing Megaladon (who was giant, and had giant teeth), their teeth are quite small, sharp, and smooth. And really, I don't think they would go through the trouble of carving teeth. Millions of sharks are killed annually, so what would they do with the teeth? Give them to tourist shops, of course!

But seriously, I don't think you've been scammed...

Different teeth had different names, just like in human mouths.
