I'm 14 years old, I live with my single mother who is currently studying to be an accountant. We're having major money problems right now, we barely have 2000 dollars in the bank.
The other thing is that she keeps yelling at me and blaming me for all the problems. We went berry picking yesterday and we were supposed to go again today but the people won't pick up the phone. Please what can I do? She can't work and study at the same time, and she beats me because of the money problem too

Sorry. I don't understand the part about the people not picking up the phone or your getting blamed for the money problems. Is she mistaking you for a provider or your absent father. Seek counselling at school, church or community..

Beating you is a serious matter. Call a cop
or tell a neighbor when this happens. Blaming you for her mistakes is not very responsible of your mom.
I am glad she is going to school, but just because it will take longer to be an accountant is no reason not to work. The school can help if it is a reputable school with counslers.
She sounds stressed and there are mental health facilities that love to have people come in and talk to them. Most are through the welfare dept of your county.
Do not feel that any of this is your fault.
Talk to adults about your feelings and the things going on in your life. I am sure you know some person you can trust. A relative or friend`s parent.
But things may have to get worse to get better so be prepared.

Your a child still, this should not be your problem. You should be able to enjoy being a kid. If you want to help out and contribute... wait until you are able to get your working papers and you'll be able to assist with the money coming into your household.

taking our HER problems on you is not the answer -- you need to seek the help of a adult (teacher, minister, of social worker in your area) and you need it now.
