i was living in minnesota when my ex husband got custody and when i turned 18 i moved down to louisiana where hes at and we got married now were getting a divorce my family wants me to come back to minnesota. if i get my own place and a job can i get custody back where he was taken away? if u need more details just ask

Depending on whether you get custody in this divorce will decide what you need to do next. You will need either written permission from dad or the courts to take your child across state lines of face federal kidnapping charges. This isnt as clear cut as it appears. You will also need to show that the move would have the best interests of the child in mind and that you have a means of support back in Minnesota. Good luck

You need to get an attorney NOW. The custody case will be complicated because you want to move out of the state. You will need a strong case on why you need to move. Good luck..
