My girlfriend and I (she's 17 and I'm 18) were hanging out in my bedroom a little bit ago. All of a sudden, she lit a cigarette in my room. She is so used to smoking in her own bedroom, she forgot that my parents don't allow it in mine. She took a few puffs before putting the cigarette out. (The cigarette burned for about 5 minutes.) But now my room smells like an ashtray. My parents are downstairs, and if they find out we're both dead! How can I completely get rid of the smell without getting caught? And how long will it take for the smell to clear?
P.S. It's storming outside, and the rain is pounding against my window. I can't open it without flooding my room!

turn the ceiling fan on and see if you can find any air freshener and light some candles. definitely try 2 get ure parents out of the house if possible. otherwise go into the kitchen and try to find something that smells strongly when you cook it, like bacon or popcorn, etc. that should help some.

Try natural oils with strong smells. Or you can tell them you were burning insense and you suddenly got into it o-0;;;
Or you can use the smell of freshly cooked food. Use a paper fan to wave the scent through out your room. It should over come the smoke smell.

p.s. sometimes air freshners make it worse. ^^;

Light a scented candle and the smell will slowly dissipate. After you blow it out the smell from the wick and wax will cover any lingering smell. The old saying "light a match" actually works when it comes to getting rid of unpleasant smells.

Turn a fan on, light some scented candles.. The window with the fan is the best, but looks like you can't do that.. Vinegar works.

Lysol the room for the short term, stop smoking entirely for the long term. They call it "cancerstick" for a reason.

Hmm. do you have any Fabreze in the house? If so, spray your curtains for now. But in the future, if she wants to light up, buy some Ozium spray, ( I think that's how it's spelled) . It takes odors away INSTANTLY!
