God springs forth from the primitive limbic system of your brain, the last remnants of your reptillion past. The area where our raw emotions reside, including the irrational belief systems.

The 'religious' experience is triggered by deep depression, starvation, near death, or other highly charged situations. The 'born-again' christian phenomena has a scientific basis....yes, your limbic system. Why has man evolved this mechanism you might ask? Simple...it was a survival mechanism of our cave man ancestors to cope with a hostile and unknown universe.

The cerebral cortex is a more recent development. Here is where our rational and logical thought processes take place. It is here that the atheists have found their basis in reality.

In reality, there is no sentient, omnipresent, omnipotent supernatural being or force....therefore all the inequities and misery of the world will always persist, no matter how hard some try to get that limbic brain of ours to work...sorry

Lol, your question is quite contradictory. To believe is to follow without proof. And then you go on to ask them to PROVE he exists. If we could prove God exists, then the question should NOT be "do you BELIEVE in God" rather it should be "do you KNOW God exists" And also if you could prove the Abrahamic God to exist, everyone would know it and all be of the religion that was proved. Also it is kidna biased as you don't ask any question to those who don't believe in God....

That aside. I believe in somethign that I call God. But it differs from the stereotypical Abrahamic God.

God in the form of an all powerful human-like form....no.

I do believe that the universe had a power, maybe many powers, that we do not understand.

We have no definitive knowledge of how we came to be. Theories abound and people square off on their chosen answers and defend their positions and beliefs even unto death.

Who's right? I can not say, for I do not know and have no way of finding out. People who believe they know the answers only do so by way of faith. Faith is the key to their beliefs. Without it they would doubt everything.

I truly believe that the truth is unknowable.

Therefore I am agnostic.

g-day!

I believe I am my own god! Everyone is their own god. I am the only controller of my world. I cannot and will not blame anyone else for my misfortunes, cannot & will not ask for anyones help to get what I want any easier than it is to get myself and cannot & will not thank anyone for what I have acheived myself, God is for people who have no faith in themselves, need someone to blame or cant be bothered getting off thier asses to get what they want themselves. It is a cop out on being responsible for your own actions and a false way of ppl releiving their own guilt.

Belief in any god is about hope more than anything. Without reference to religion, try proving there is not a god.

i believe that it is not possible to prove/disprove a deity, so i am a fence sitter, an agnostic....actually by definition we cannot prove of disprove the existence of God, as god "transcends the universe"

I believe in God.
I do NOT believe in religions.
Religions divide people.

I guess the best answer for proof is the beginning of everything, i.e. the "big bang." The universe is expanding outward from a central 'expansion.' There is nothing beyond the universe.

I do believe in God. The same way I believe in love that we cannot see it but we can feel it. The world and all its natural beauty, animals, plants, the human race that exists within it could not have spontaneous origin.

a lot of people does...
I think i do, but it shall not be those we have in religions.
religion isn't necessary for one to believe in GOD.

somehow, we'd just 'assume' unexplained stuffs to be related to them.

Religion-less...let's just say we'd try to believe in something that can give us strength.

Even if it's not a GOD watching over the world, it can ALWAYS be a GOD that can give us all the power we need at times of NEEDs, one that's worshiped our mind.

Just make sure it's backed up by proper morals...We don't want people believing in their own 'GOD' and start something crazy.

I believe in God with all my heart and soul!!! I read the Bible a few times and I paid attention to what God and Jesus said. I pray and He answers my prayers very quickly. God gave us free will--to believe in Him or not.
Read a Bible (The King James version is best), say the Lord's Prayer, and pray for another human being. See how fast the Lord will accept you. Be sure to pray for forgiveness of your sins. The only one who can prove it is you. I already believe!!!
