Yes, but there have been very few DH's that warranted consideration for the MVP since most DH's are basically experienced hitters that are incapable of playing the field any more.

I guess the position player would have to commit a whole bunch of errors for him to lose out to a DH with the same offensive stats...
So, yes, the DH would have to do better offense than a position player to get more MVP votes...

yes and there should be, the DH gets to hang in the dug out while the rest are out there in the field making game saving catches and throws. unless a dh just totally destroys the rest of the competition in hitting he shouldnt be considered.
