I'm looking for cheats for resident evil 4(ps2) that DON'T require me to go out and purchase a 3rd party cheat system like gameshark. I've looked all over then internet and all there is are hints and stuff you unlock just by playing the game, no actual cheats. So are there any cheats? or am i gonna be stuck paying 30 bucks for a gameshark? mainly i'm looking for infinite ammo

No, there are no regular cheats, but there are unlockables. You can unlock a Chicago Typewriter (Tommy gun) with unlimited ammo, and a Rocket Launcher with unlimited ammo. I found a good video walkthrough that's really helpful.

Also, use your knife whenever you can to save on ammo. It helps, believe me!

No. Pre-programmed invincibility is never a big thing with RE. Infinate ammo weapons maybe, but never invincibility. If you don't want to use a GameShark, Action replays are just as good.

no there are no non gameshark cheats for re4 but i have a gameshark and it works really well for re4 and it is well worth the price.

there are no cheat codes but there are alot of statagies that are like cheats.
