Which of the following is the greatest factor of the
equation: 18x³ + 4x² - 6xⁿ
ⁿ=4, couldn't figure out how to get a small superscript 4

It says the answer is C...

18x³ + 4x² - 6x^4
= 2x² (9x + 2 - 3x²)
HCF = 2x²

First look at the coefficients. That is the number next to the X. For example, in this equation, the coefficients are 18, 4, and -6. Now first find the greatest common factor of these numbers. The highest number you can evenly divide these number by is 2.

Next look at the Xs and their exponents. We have x^3, x^2, and x^4. This part is simple. Find the smallest exponent: which is x^2.

Now combine what you did:2 and x^2 and you get 2x^2.
