It should be legal. Why is it illegal to sell something that you can give away for free????

Yes I think prostitution should be legal. The regulation involved would make it safer for both parties. Guys would have a legitimate way to "get their rocks off" without deceiving some girl into thinking that he really likes her just to get in her pants. Prostitutes would be more respectable, thus attracting better quality women into the profession-thus eliminating the crack-whores and heroin addicts from the business. A legal operation could be taxed and zoned, making the impact on society much more desirable, and it would keep underage girls out of the business. As women aged out of the business, some of the tax money could go to re-training an a pension plan could be established.

Yes.
It has nothing to do with sexual assault, though. The reason it should be legalized is twofold:
-It doesn't actually harm society, so there's no reason to outlaw it.
-Outlawing it doesn't make it stop happening, it just makes it happen in unsafe conditions - both for the prostitutes and their clients. Better to have it be legal and safe for everyone involved.

Yes. It is the oldest profession so why not control it. You can tax, and personal health inspections would be required. Also, this profession can operate in certain areas. You would take a good part of the crime element out of it.

Yes, I think it should be made illegal.
I think it's irrational for the law to allow two people to have sex, but make illegal for the same two people to have the same sex solely because money changes hands.
And no, it would not have any significant impact on sexual assault crimes.

I have pondered this question before. I am conservative but I lean toward legalizing it. In that manner the girls can be checked out for std's. That is the most important thing as far as protecting them and their clients.

Yes, I am a conservative who believes in a woman's right to self-determination of her own body, as long as a human being isn't butchered in the process.

No, there would be more rape than the law enforcement could keep up with.
And there would most likely be a bad epidemic of some sort of disease break out, possibly killing millions.
