This story is starting to remind me of the Soham murders of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, with the story above stating dogs have sniffed a corpse, will we see them arrested and reveal they killed her and played the public just like Ian and Maxine????

Well it def brings up more questions. although my thoughts are that the crime scene evidence can't be relied on 100% anymore, because it was already supposed to be tainted earlier on by the local police not wearing protective clothing and not sealing off the scene quickly enough.By the time the sniffer dogs were brought in, a lot of people had been in and out.I pray for the poor child. and if her parents did have anything to do with it.may the punishment be eternal.

well i will be honest i do not know what to make of it.
if they are guilty they want shooting for the way they have acted and lied and many good people gave them cash to fund a search for the daughter.

another thing that bugs me with this is the press, one minute they say this and the next they say that.
it gets to the point where you don't know what to believe.

and another thing why is this story so much big news? not as if this couple was famous before this happened but lets face it if it was one of us on here's kid went missing it would be forgotten about by now then one year after the fact it would get on crime watch UK as a reminder the police are still looking for this child you know what i mean?

Reprint of the translations I did earlier of articles appearing in today's Portuguese papers:

Expresso reports today:

"Suspects include friends of the McCanns: Despite the 33 year old Briton continuing to be the sole arguido in the case, the authorities are now considering other evidence which will lead to the circle of friends of the McCann couple. The PJ confirmed the indication of the possible presence of a corpse in the McCann apartment, the scent picked up by a cadaver dog of the GNR, which also followed the scent to another apartment within the complex. This new evidence means that the child may have been led away by someone she knew; however, the PJ prefers not to disclose the names of the suspects.".

Correio da Manha reports:

"PJ have now centred their inquiries on the McCanns' inner circle and moves to exclude Robert Murat from their line of inquiry. The abduction theory is being moved away from after English dogs have detected a scent that points to the existence of a corpse in the McCann's holiday apartment.

The PJ now believes that Madeleine died in the apartment in the Algarve where Madeleine was on vacation with her parents and siblings in May. The dogs, cocker spaniels especially trained by British police, arrived on Wednesday. They picked up the scent of the disappeared child, and had detected traces that point to a corpse being in the apartment.

Yesterday, having searched the beach in case the body was taken to the water, the authorities have centred their attention on the house of Robert Murat, the only suspect in the case.

The same dogs were taken to the garden of Casa Liliana and was subject to operations of clearing foliage and cutting down shrubs on part of the property, but nothing was found. They left at 8.00pm, having not detected any vestiges of the presence of the missing girl.

The line of inquiry now being followed by the authorities, disclosed yesterday by Sol and confirmed for CM, follows another early line of inquiry which had confused elements of the PJ. A GNR tracker dog used just after the disappearance had traced the child's scent between the apartment where she slept and another apartment in the resort, and elements of the PJ never dismissed the possibility that the little girl may have been led away by someone she knew.

The scent detected in the McCann apartment now shifts the line of inquiry to the circle of friends of the parents and the girl, even though the reasons that led to the child's death are still unknown.

The PJ uses special caution in the phrasing, and names of the main suspects have not been disclosed."

Note to Lou B: All I'm doing is offer translations. Sol (which appears to be the nemesis of The Daily Express) first published a story on Saturday inferring that suspicion was leaning more towards the McCann group and away from Robert Murat, due to "special English sniffer dogs" being brought in and detecting signs of rigor mortis in the McCann apartment, then Correio da Manha ran a big story expanding on the Sol article on Sunday which other, smaller Portuguese papers picked up on.

They're not...just as much as you're not Imran Khan.
Theres just no proof...This story may remind you of another one but unless you have proof, pointless comparisons are only cruel baseless accusations.

i dont think they had anything to do with her going missing, bit maybe someone in their party of friends had, so if they all tell the truth something will have to give, if she was led away by someone she knew and brought to another apartment in the complex their vow of silence between friends might be unwisely covering someones tracks

This is getting absurd.

Ian Huntley is a murderer.

Maxine Carr was his alibi after the fact - she did not kill. This does not excuse her silence while the parents of Holly and Jessica were frantic.

The McCanns were negligent, and stupid, and selfish, granted - but there is no evidence WHATSOEVER to suggest they had a hand in their daughter's disappearance.

If they were involved, they would hardly be seeking the media spotlight; they would be far more low profile.

if somebody is going to comment on this case they should at least know the basic facts

Reading your profi etc I find a disturbing obsession with paedophelia not to mention the justification of terrorist bombing and fundamentalist Islam. This will not play well with the conservative anti- muslim AMcC brigade with whom you are obviously desperate to ingratiate yourself. I should be careful if I were you and keep your perverted fantasies to yourself before you attract some very unwelcome attention. The BNP trawl this site too!
