note: I didn't leave the East of Europe out - I've already been there so they aren't on my list anymore. A couple on my list I've been to already too but the women........ gotta go back! :-)

Hm.... Nice advise, but the man above left all the east European cities out, interesting. And those are not always the capitol cities which are the centre of the country.
The heart of Europe for many centuries was Prague... (Praga)incredible city and they've got the best beer in the world. It's a must, since so many Hollywood movies where made there.
I'm not sure if you talk about Europe as European union, if not, then St. Petersburg is one of the greatest cities, till now i do not know anyone who did not like it there.
Well, Riga is also a very beautiful harbor city, with the best chocolate, ice cream and all kind of cakes i ever had, with lots of amber jewelry and nice places just to chill.
Before i write and write here, best would be you just choose from the world map, if you like the name and location of the city, just put it inside google and get the info. And if you plan to go really, never go alone... it's not safe and pretty boring. And with friends you just rent a car.... and you are free to visit even 20 cities, land sides... simply beautiful places.
