Women deal with far bigger issues than changing the oil and paying bills... we have the great responsibility of bearing the children of the world and in most circumstances being the primary caregiver. So, to say that these menial everyday things are "too much" is not only silly but inaccurate. Comparing paying bills to being a mother is like comparing Britney Spears with Barbra Streisand. I Being a mother is the probably the most stressful thing a woman could do, so paying bills is child's play. I find it interesting that you use condescending terminology "her pretty little head". Or saying that math is too hard for women. What a crock of crap. Half the men I know are horrible with numbers AND with money. My brother, though I love him dearly ifs crap with money, and my mother and I were the ones to figure to a budget for him. And managed to not get stressed about it- go figure! My step dad is an idiot, who doesn't even know how to pay a bill- my Mother handles all the bills. I don't know maybe you just know really stupid women or maybe you're just an idiot. I'm going with the former.

I should not have to worry about the car at all. He should clean it, wax it, get it maintained or maintain it himself, fix the tires, put the gas in, pay for that (every three years getting a new car). I grew up around a family of aunts who never drove and their husbands drove them everywhere, and anywhere they wanted to go. Maybe men should not "expect" women to handle complex math problems or write the checks, but if a man can't do math and I can and he brings in the paycheck, then I'm more than willing to do the checkbook and save his money as long as I get a part of it.

What you have to say is very true, and more so than ever in the year 2007. First of all, fathers need to purchase their daughters over the age of 12 a fainting couch, to be placed in their bedroom beside their hope chest. Then in case of a stressful event occurring, she can quickly repair to the privacy of her boudoir to rest and recuperate. A small table should be adjacent o the couch, to hold smelling salts now and of course for Xanex and Ambien later. From adolescence on up, the modern miss need only concentrate on her clothes and her looks, because after all they are the bait to catch the necessary he-man to protect her. And after marriage, she need only use the charge cards, send out for meals, and occasionally flit about the house with apron and feather duster.Let her man take care of everything else; for after all, she is there only for decor. Then when he's bored with her, tired of paying her bills, and she's not so decorative, he can always dump her old self for a newer model. While she may end up on welfare, living in her car, it was fun while it lasted, wasn't it.?And there's always the Xanex to come home to.

Are you of this day and age? Any woman who cannot take care of such thing's is denying themselve's of any independance. It make's me feel good about myself that I can hook up the .tv, vcr, dvd player, and the playstation without a man's help. In fact, I know of three men who left it up to me to do. It took me a while but, I got it! Made me feel good that I could figure out how it All went together. Oh, and don't forget the stereo system. And the surround system.

I think she shouldn't have to worry about heavy things like mowing the lawn or fixing any major technical problems and especially if she is pregnant for example. However, there is no reason ( if man of the house is away) that she can not arrange for someone to come and do those things. As for calculating bills etc, that is something I always do every month for myself. It's not something complicated.

A lot of people who've replied don't seem to know what patronising means! I would say, in response to any intelligent remark she made: (Pat on the head) "Yes dear, now, what have you made for my tea?"
