This depends on the sensations you experienced at the time of discovery. If you just thought, "Cool!", then it was just a nifty thing to find. If you felt otherworldly or that it meant something significant, then it probably was.

Pesetas are from Spain, not Mexico.
probably not worth much. not since Spain went on the Euro.
In 1989, it was worth about 27 Pesetas to the dollar.

no. it just means someone was there carrying mexican money and dropped it. it's not as uncommon to carry mexican money as you might think. could have been anyone. a tourist who just got back from mexico, who knows?
