If so what happens when you do that? What's the purpose of the watchlist? I've never used it before so I'm just curious is all.

I've put things on my watchlist on occasion for several different reasons.

Sometimes it's a question I might like to answer but want to think about first.

Sometimes it's a question that I'm curious to find out the answer to and putting it on the watchlist is an easy to find it again.

Sometimes (before we had networks, fans, etc.) it was so I could find a user again because I liked their questions or answers.

Then, depending on the reason, once I've done what I wanted, I have the choice to keep or delete the question.

Yes I have. You put questions on your Watchlist that you want to check back on. Nothing really happens. The questions just appear on the Watchlist.

My watchlist is full!! I can never find time to delete old questions, and keep adding new ones, that I want to go back to, to answer (when I cant answer them right away), or to read the answers. It's a useful feature, you should try it. :)

It's just a private list where you keep track of questions that you have selected to be in watchlist. More like starring questions, but they're private.

I just use it to answer somebody's question when i'm to busy looking at a different one. You can delete it when you're done answering it by clicking on "Remove from Watchlist"

Before the contacts list was available, it was the only way to keep tabs on those you wanted to keep in touch with.
I use it now to keep tabs on a question I didn't answer but want to see the end results of.

I use it to watch questions that I don't have the answers for, but am interested in the outcome of the question.

Enjoy your day.
