Static and humidity have a big effect on them.. Take the bulbs down and damp wipe them thoroughly and dry them.
Then reinstall. That should help.

It may have more to do with voltage into your house. Mine were not coming on a few days ago I only had 103V. It is normally 117V. With all of the air conditioner loading all over the place we had some "brown outs".

I have the same problem. Seems like I have to "on/off" the switch several times. It could be the extra moisture in the air.
