I'll never forget my 5th grade teacher. He was the meanest man on the face of the earth. He didn't just dislike me - he hated the entire class. He REALLY gave the boys a difficult time. To this day, I've never understand why a man who seemed to hate kids so much decided to be a teacher.
Looking back, I realize he showed symptoms of being an alcoholic. The way I dealt with it was just to not give him reason to single me out, so I always watched what I said and what I did in his class. Even though I was very young, I just told myself that if I could just get through the school year, I'd be rid of him forever. I also reminded myself that I had never had much a mean and hateful teacher and would probably never have one as mean as he was again - and I was right.
If you feel this teacher's negative actions towards you are unwarranted, I wouldn't hesitate to talk to someone about - your parents, a school counselor or principal, or just someone who can help you with the situation. Children have a voice now that kids just didn't have in my generation. My mother always used to tell me that children should be seen and not heard. To this day, I HATE that saying.
Always remember you totally have the right, even the responsibility, to question authority. I hope you get things worked out with the difficulties you're having with this teacher.

Yes, I had this science teacher for 8th and 9th grade. No matter what I did, he never liked to joke with me or any of that. I'd answer the question correctly and he was whatever but with some other person, he's like, very good! He'd always joke with others but not me. I mean, I was a good kid but for some reason this teacher never liked me and I hated it because I liked his class. I just dealt with it, I had to, it's not like there was anything I could do about it.

oh totally! he was my US History teacher in high school. i think he was Jewish (Eastman?) and because my last name is German, when we had to watch all the Holocaust videos he moved my desk to the front, right in front of the tv. i walked out and never went back. needless to say, i graduated from an alternative high school!
