I think they sometimes forget that with out the fans there is no F1. If they don't have the fans then there is no gain for the sponsors. Over the past few seasons the sport has gone rapidly down hill. You'd need a law degree at times to try and figure out what's going on. It's a great shame that they are allowing politics to destroy a truely amazing sport:(

In reality this is nothing new, it is maybe just a different flavour this year.
Think of the rivalries within teams that have existed in the past:
Senna - Prost
Mansell - Piquet
Driver rivalries have also been nasty between non-teammates:
Schumacher - Hill
Schumacher - Villeneuve
Senna - Prost (again)
F1 has been very political as long as I have followed it (since the early 80s).
In-fighting, politics, intrigue... it is like loving a soap opera someone else finds inane.

at the end of the day there are politics in all sports. its just a shame that it has spilled out like this. i really don't think its about disrespecting the fans. with a bit of luck it will all be resolved by the time they get to Turkey.

F1 does not come even close to Show Jumping with its politics ask the great Harvey the rough yorkshire man they tried to tame but his skills was just to good. You cannot ignore talent and Lewis is oozing with it.

any sport will have controversy. f1 was rather 'quiet' for the last few years because there were very few extremely tight contests, unlike this season. a suggestion would be to heavily punish both those guilty and those who instigate controversy.

Motor racing isn't a spectator sport. It's an opportunity to get the sponsors logos on the telly. If they ever have to rely on the fans' money, their attitude may change.
