Yes of course it is legal. She is a woman, she can do anything she wishes. That is just the way it is and the sooner you accept it the better. However, if you had done it, you could wind up in jail.

Start saving your money. Obtain another identify for yourself and your children. If necessary go to a South American country and bribe some official. That is easy. Eventually, you will see your children. Just before you do, buy a used car from some individual and don't title it. Sell you car. Take your children, drive to Mexico, abandon the car that cannot be identified to you. Fly to Iran. On $25,000, you and your children can live there for a year. Then go to Australia to live using your new identity. Never contact anyone in the USA. That is the best thing. The courts will award the children to the mother and mothers without a husband are very poor parents. That is why children of single moms have such a high crime rate.

You will be doing what is in the best interest of you children. Don't concern yourself about the ex-wife. She is going to be upset but if you don't leave a trail and never contact anyone, including you parents, there is nothing she can do other than getting a worthless piece of paper holding you in contempt of court.

No one can say if it is legal or illgal without knowing waht state you live in. Each state has their own legalities on who can take what and dissappear. The greatest leg you have to stand on right now is the fact that she is required to let you know where your children are, to include a home address.

Get an attorney, and a good one.

In the meantime, you should contact the police and file a report no matter what. Take her name off the lease if possible, change the locks and protect yourself. Close you joint account immediately, and open one in your name only.

If she writes checks off the account after it's closed, that's her problem, not yours.

Yes she can take all that. You have nothing to stand on. You are married and as such she is entitled to the marital assets. What YOU have to do now is file for legal seperation and divorce in order to FREEZE all other assets so that she can't take it all. When you talk with your lawyer let him know that she took everything and that you want whatever she is awarded in the financial part of the divorce is offset by what she has already taken. In otherwords she will be awarded LESS based upon what she has already taken.

Happens all the time. Unfortunately, although I don't know what state you live in, usually the property is considered owned jointly and therefore she has as much right to the property as you do. Lawyers do give free consultations, however, and maybe you'd like to check with one. But I doubt there is much that you can do after the fact. Sorry.

Depending on where you live it can be construed as interference with parental custody. Talk to the police and a lawyer ASAP. Time is of the essence, file papers to get your kids back.
Been there done that... it is no fun at all.

I'm sorry for your loss but you should be worry about your kids. don't let them grow up whit out you.women do that all the while especially if you hurt them, not taking care of business, lie, cheat etc, etc.but as a women she shouldn't left you on your feet like that.I'm not judging you but maybe you did something to hurt her real bad.if you know where she is tell her you need time whit your kids she cant take them away.tell her you need some of the money back to get on whit your life. if she refuse you can contact a lawyer or find away to get back you life on track but if you do beware she might come back and since you are married she might want to claimed for what you got.

This is illegal and you can file charges of theft and in case it wasnt her. Chances are most of it will disappear suddenly and whereabouts unknown. If she just happened to leave the state you can charge her with spousal kidnapping to avoid child custody or divorce if this happens to apply here. This is a Federal charge which isnt going to help her any. File the charges and notify an attorney

I don't know the legal side of it... But you should file a police report just to have it one file. You never know which path this is going to lead down. Good luck!

You can legally report it stolen. They may say that it was joint property, but at least you have the information on record in case you need it at a later date, say for court maybe?

My question is: Why hadn't you call the cops prior to this??
