That's a pretty hard one as both groups were great. Let's go over both groups.

Boyz II Men was on top of the world when in was in middle school/high school. Three of their songs ended up breaking records with the most weeks at number one on the Billboard charts. (One Sweet Day with Mariah, End of the Road, and I'll Make Love to you) The magnitude of that feat may never be touched again. All these songs were number 1 OVER 10 weeks in a row.

The problem with Boyz II Men is that their longetivity just wasn't there. Where are they now? Their first 2 albums were extremely popular but it just dropped off by the 3rd album. They were in the limelight for 5 years and then no more.

New Edition didn't have the pop hits that Boyz II Men had but I think their legacy is more respected. Sure Bobby Brown has become more of a joke but if you look at his body of work and the rest of New Edition, it's actually pretty good. Bobby, Bel Biv Devoe, Johnny Gill and Ralph Tresvant had solid careers as both a group and as solo artists. They were also pretty big teen stars back in their early days and are still a pretty hot ticket on the concert scene nowadays.

Personally I like New Edition better as their pop hits along with their ballads are more pleasing to the ear. Boyz II Men was also great but I think their hits being so damn overplayed was the reason why I wasn't too big on them. I gotta admit that End of the Road was my favorite song when I was an 8th grader haha.

U can't compare the two. Boyz II Men is a master ballad group while New Edition tried to do both upbeat and ballads.
You do know that Michael Bivins from New Edition is credited with discovering Boyz II Men?

First let me say that I love them both. I think that I would go with Boys II Men because they had great music and also they were young men at our youth could look up too. They were never in the media being protrayed in a negative light and they could sing their butts off. But then New Addition had the voice the moves and lets not forget Ralph!!! This is really hard to decide.

Boyz II Men- They had the hits and everyone of those guys could sing. N.E had classic songs but they couldn't sing with Boyz II Men.
