My mind is blank also with regards to why would anyone want to spend time with their poo. Just read the story behind the toilet and it had me in stitches.
Ewww, I bet a few people get their hands dirty when wiping their behinds. Too close for comfort for my liking.

I guess they'd be ranked second to the Japanese for "most well intentioned, but yet retarded toilet system".
But as someone else said - they're environmental freaks. Runs in their culture or something (I'm German, and love the environment too, but wouldn't go THIS far.

The article explains the "reason", but to me it seems disgusting and quite infantile - good grief!! Guess if I'm ever in that area of the world, I will have to plan ahead and find a rest room WITHOUT those kind of toilets!!! GROSS!
